Lemon Tree

We are so used to getting our stuff from supermarkets and groceries that sometime we forgot they come from some plant or tree. Being in Koala Land for 1.5 months now reminds me that we are eating the fruits of some farmer's labor. The common fruits that we buy like apple and oranges can be found easily in some one's backyard or garden.

I wonder how, I wonder why....

One day, while we were walking around the neighbourhood, my mum spotted neighbour's lemon tree and literally jump over the low fence to take photo with the lemon tree above. I half expect a Rottweiler to rush out and bite her. Later we found out one of my aunts have a big lemon tree behind her house. La...~ Although I can't take photo of that tree cause it was night and my iphone camera suck, we had fun plucking some lemons from her tree in the middle of the night during dead winter. I am sure my aunt thought we are a bit not right in the head. I went home that night with a bag full of lemons.

Do Re Mi

I also had a Lemon 101 course from aunt. Although ripe lemons will drop from the tree (unlike persimmons), they must be pluck when they reach the standard lemon size that we see selling in supermarkets. If you leave a lemon hanging until it drops by itself, it will just grow and grow as the tree will keep feeding it. By the time it drop, it will look like an orange. See the above picture. From right is the obese lemon that was left too long on the tree, the middle is the standard size lemon and finally on the far left side is my alarm clock.

Why the...?

I just thought it look nice and matching with my lemons. (~dodge frying pan)

I gave some lemons to Nite. The rest of the lemons, I don't know what to do with it. Everyday just stare at it with satisfaction. Anyone want lemons?
